Insurance
Ascend operates as a fee-for-service provider, meaning we do not accept or bill insurance directly. Instead, we are considered an out-of-network (OON) provider. Clients pay for services privately, and we provide a detailed “superbill” upon request, which includes all the necessary information for you to request reimbursement from your insurance company.
We do not guarantee reimbursement.
Why Consider Paying “Out of Pocket”
Paying out of pocket for mental health services can provide you with greater privacy, flexibility, and control over your care.
Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis, which becomes part of your permanent health record. This information may affect your eligibility for life insurance, certain jobs, or future health insurance plans
When using insurance, your provider’s notes, treatment plans, and diagnoses may be subject to review. Additionally, insurance companies may limit the type or length of services you can receive, restricting the care you need.
Many insurance plans do not cover certain services like couples therapy, family therapy, or advanced treatments. Paying privately allows you to access the care that best meets your specific needs without limitations.
